Carol Schram: Canucks prospect Arshdeep Bains wins Bob Clarke Trophy as top WHL scorer After Arshdeep Bains broke out to win the WHL scoring championship this season, the Vancouver Canucks are hopeful that he can continue his development after signing him to a free-agent contract.

Thanks Carol.

I agree, Ben King would be worth a pick this year, and was happy to see te Bains signing, as it shows they are looking everywhere for talent and shows that they are actually scouting the WHL.
Not used to this as it is a huge neglect of the previous regime.

Man that group was just so bad.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here? Are you saying that if Aquilini was willing to rebuild, moving forward with Gillis as the GM would be an impossible task?

Or, did you mean that the GM who preceded Gillis (Nonis) had an impossible task?

I can’t tell if it’s the wrong word, or the right word used incorrectly, or the wrong word also used incorrectly.

I believe it’s just a hate for Gillis as GM, I could be wrong as I’ve only been here the last 2 days.

Trading Brassard and a 7th for Zibanejad and a 2nd. What a great trade for the Rangers.

They're a deep club, a lot of youth that just gained deep playoff experience.

Gillis was 60 min away from being the greatest GM in Nucks history. Did some good things. Just sucked at drafting and NTC clauses and trades after 2011 lol

I thought the result of the Stanley Cup was pre-determined by Gary and his boys? So Gillis was never going to win the cup.
Isn't there a conspiracy to keep the cup out of Canada?

He did trade some premium picks going for it, drafted low on average. 2 top 10 picks, Hodgson and Horvat. Bo's a great pick at 9, Hodgson got injured but was looking good as a 2C.
I hated the Booth trade and the Roy trade even more, just because it was obvious the team needed a lot more than Roy to be good in the playoffs.

The Luongo rule (frank)ed him pretty good. The league agreed to a deal then went back on it months later. They must have hated him or Aqua.

Kesler had an NTC, we traded it for pizza boy, McCann and Bonino. That's as good as that deal ever got but we didn't stop there.

The new GM made some bad signings and trades and also whiffed on a ton of premium picks.

To blame Gillis for a Benning's failure after a 71/2 year tenure is ridiculous.
